Wow, thanks for all the comments, it's wonderful to be able to share the photos with people frm all around the globe...  Well, here's another set taken with Canon EOS 500 model, way back in year 2000.

Nama Lain (Other Names) Hastate leaf pond weed
Nota Ringkas (Short Notes)
Dua jenis Keladi Itik terdapat di Malaysia, iaitu Keladi Itik Lelembing (Monochoria hastata) dan jenis yang lebih kecil iaitu, Keladi Itik Bujur (Monochoria vaginalis). Kedua-dua ini berasal daripada Malaysia, Negera Thai, Singapura dan Indonesia. Tumbuhan ini cepat membiak dan sentiasa diguna sebagai makanan bagi ternakan seperti itik dan angsa. Biasa dijumpai di tempat berlumput seperti tepi kolam, parit dan tali air.
There are two types of Pondweeds in Malaysia, they are the hastate leaf pondweed (Monochoria hastata) and the smaller species that is, Oval Leaf Pondweed (Monochoria vaginalis). Both the species are native of Malaysia, Thailand, Singapure dan Indonesia. It is a very fast growing plant and are commonly used as folder crop for the rearing of Ducks and goose. Frequently seen in muddy places such as the edge of ponds, ditches and cannals.

Melastoma malabathricum: Locally known as senduduk, this plant is a shrub that grows up to 2m tall. The stem is red and covered with fine hairs. There are two varieties – one with white flowers, and the other has pink flowers. It has a long tradition of use as a uterine tonic for female healthcare. The flowers, seeds and leaves are astringent and have been traditionally used as food and medicine for women following childbirth to strengthen the womb and accelerate wound healing. It is also used in cases of excessive menstrual bleeding, and to relieve pre-menstrual tension, menstrual cramps, stomachache and indigestion. It is frequently used both internally and externally to treat white discharge.
Senduduk may be taken fresh or as a tea. The old recipe is one handful boiled in two cups of water. The mixture should be boiled until there is only one cup of water left. Today, capsules containing grounded parts of the plant as well as standardised extracts are sold in pharmacies. Senduduk has a long history of safe and effective usage amongst the Malays. It has also been used in Indonesia and Philippines.
